a little about me
My name is Saidur Hossain and I am a freelance graphic designer based in NJ.
Design is a passion for me. I am only starting my design career, constantly searching and learning new methods and ideas to use as inspiration. I love making unique designs that are usable and creative, yet standards compliant. My passion for design almost makes me think of design philosophically, crazy, I know, but I can't help it. The user experience is always in my head. I design keeping in mind what the functionality of the website will be and how the user can interact with it.
I like to stay up to date with new styles. Currently there is the whole Web 2.0 - 3.0 (or rather 2.5) revolution going on, and I would like to both assist and add to that revolution. I always find myself testing the newest cool ways to get things done. Many times I end up using brand new tools to build my designs immediately. This habit has led me to explore many JavaScript effect libraries such as prototype (you can tell if you are a web geek if you know what I am talking about : )
field of knowledge
Most of the things I know are self taught, results of endless hours in front of a monitor. Currently I can proudly say that I have vast knowledge in Photoshop, CSS, and HTML. But, like I said, that's only the ones that I know best at the moment, JavaScript is slowly finding its way onto that list. I have been recently realizing the amazing potential of CSS working with JS. The capabilities are so exciting and vast that I don't even see the limits of design anymore, yeah its that exciting. I'm working to improve my knowledge on JavaScript as well as back-end coding like PHP, ASP.NET, and other server-side scripting.
my thoughts
As a designer, its not necessarily required to know too much on the back-end coding, but hey, the more you know the better. I personally believe that a designer would work much more efficiently and creatively with a part of the programmers knowledge, just as the back-end programmer should know a thing or two on design.
